ABSTRACT
This study investigated the effect of information communication technology (ICT) on students academic performance on mathematics in secondary schools in Kosofe local government area of Lagos state, Nigeria. A descriptive survey research design was used and the study population was 265, consisting 176 science and 89 mathematics education students. Out of this population, 98 science education students and 58 mathematics education students were randomly sampled for the study. The research was guided by two research questions and two hypotheses. Data were collected using “ICT and Students Performance Questionnaire” (ICTSPQ). The collected data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions while chi-square was used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The finding of the study revealed that ICT has a significant influence on the academic performance of science and mathematics education students. The use of ICT also influenced significantly the academic performances of male and female science and mathematics education students. The study recommended among others that students should embrace the use of ICT irrespective of gender to enhance their performance in science and mathematics education
